| NAVAL ARCHITECTSMARINE DEFENCE INDUSTRYBASED SOUTH WEST
We are seeking Naval Architects to provide professional engineering support to mega yacht, commercial vessels and equipment projects as necessary. You will be required to prepare, check and where appropriate authorise Stability information including Intact and Damaged analysis to Flag requirements, in particular knowledge of the MCA LY2 code and SOLAS as well as Detailed weight estimates, Scantlings calculation by hand or software, in particular knowledge of Lloyds Register SSC and Ship Rules, Launching and docking calculations and Trials data.
Naval Architects will also support Bid work for future projects including Lines plan generation, Weight estimates derived from basis vessels and suppliers data, Powering estimates, General Arrangement development and Stability.
You should be qualified to at least HNC level in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Offshore Engineering (with a stability bias) or Marine Engineering (with a stability bias).
In addition, to succeed as Naval Architect you must have a good level of computer literacy, with an understanding of vessel construction and outfit and a familiarity with Classification Society rules and regulations.
Practical shipyard experience would be viewed highly and knowledge of Tribon Initial Design would be advantageous, however training can be provided.
