| Position Description: Electronic & audio/video designs for projects and determine optimal component selection and design techniques to satisfy cost, strength, durability and functional performance criteria in line with specifications. Obtain homologation, certification and engineering sign off of components and systems to meet corporate OE, Rapid spec, Aftermarket, and EU legal criteria where applicable, support DFMEAs, DVPs and Timing Plans and carry out DV testing. Liaise with other departments to ensure best common practices are shared. Provide support to program and customer teams for detailed work-planning. Ensure that all corporate procedures are followed, create breadboard concepts and perform design evaluations to prove out designs and avoidance of mistakes, which could cause financial, safety and brand damage to both company and/or its, including Product Recall actions. The position will have access and control over confidential pricing, product and technical data, actively propose ideas for new products or feature improvements of existing products, perform EBOM releasing and financial costing on bill of material, support in supplier APQP, working alongside SQA, STA, Purchase, liaise with sub suppliers and conduct benchmarking and market research of competitor products.
Skills Required: An electronic engineer with experience in micro controller based systems, interfacing to analogue electronics. The candidate should demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering process and design practices. Of special interest is:
